Mrs. Carroll November 2-6, 2015

Wow!  Here it is already - November!  There are many events taking place this month, so please keep up with the school calendar and emails for updates.  Food for Families begins this week.

Canterbury Faire was fabulous!  Thank you, Parents' Plus, for all of the creative activities and the fun spirit you brought to our school!  It was a day to remember for all of us.

This week in Language Arts, we will find out about Fall on the Farm for the Superkids and the unusual things that happen,  Spelling Words will focus on the "oo" sound - the word list will come home Monday so check for the Backpack Page.  A Trial Spelling Test"  is given on Wednesdays - if you make 100 on Wednesday, then you don't have to take the test on Friday:)  In Literature we
will read a fun book about Henry and Mudge.

In Bible, we learn more about David and why he challenged Goliath.  Although this is a favorite Bible story, we will understand that God calls whom he wants to call, even a young shepherd boy.  God always provides the strength, courage, and skill that is needed if we follow His will.

In History, we learn about the Code of Hammurabi.  It is important as the earliest written code of laws.  The laws will seem interesting and the punishments harsh, but they represent a set of laws that were meant to be fair to everyone.
